Sugar, ain't got love but
I plan all my life as digging in
In a stone, oh
Don’t know I’m dead or not, damn
Hey, you stay, I play away
Hard for me to stay a day
(Time is done)
Mermaid, a blade
I might just stay
I might just stay (away)
Sugar, ain't got love but
I plan all my life as digging in
In a stone, oh
Don’t know I’m dead or not
Mermaid, you’d be
You’d be, you’d be a blade
Don’t know I’m dead or not
Mermaid, you’d be
You’d be, you’d be
Sugar, ain't got love but
I plan all my life as digging in
In a stone, oh
Don’t know I’m dead or not
Mermaid, you’d be
You’d be, you’d be a blade
Don’t know I’m dead or not
Bleed black, do it for me, not feedback
Late night sometimes I just need trees in
Three stacks philosophies is for when everything feels out of reach
I need an house on the hill by the beach
I done had run-in with pills
That s**t is not for me
I’m trying to build not even trying to speed
Not even winning I'm always chill
Got all kinds of fleas
I need a minute let me invest into some property
I better get wicked never timid I just be watching things
Don’t know if I’m dead or not but I gotta be
Fluid on a level so high I can hear the God speak
I feel like my thoughts leak straight from my brain
Get a gram then roll that 5'3'' straight to the face
And even though I’m outside I feel at home in the rain
Think that nothing is going right you're not alone in pain
I go JJ (Walker) go dynamite and keep my own in my lane
I'm bumpin 80's trance music and it's truly insane

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
